Culver Community Information:

Culver is a small farming community nestled in a fertile valley 2,633 feet above sea level. Summer is usually dry and sunny rarely exceeding 100 degrees while the nights are cool. Winter brings temperatures that can dip into the twenties at night, but usually warm up into the forties during the day. We usually see some snow but the average is only about 6 inches.

Crops that are grown include garlic, potatoes, certified grass, alfalfa, grain, mint and vegetable seeds.  Even though the growing season is short, it is quite productive.

Practically on the banks of Lake Billy Chinook with it's miles of shore line it's a recreation paradise. The opportunities for the fisherman, boater, water skier, camper, hiker, and any outdoors man or woman is endless.  The lake attracts close to a half million visitors a year.

Culver has a population of about 1,370 citizens.  The school K thru 12 has a reputation for scholastic excellence and has been commended by the state.  The city community water comes from 100 percent natural spring water and is the heart of Culver.

You will find Culver located two miles west of highway 97.  Nine miles to the north is Madras, the Jefferson county seat. Redmond is 17 miles south and 32 miles south is Bend.  The big city of Portland is about a two hour drive to the north.

Culver is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.  We celebrate any who wish to make their home here. Culver is Oregon.
